WHAT’S HAPPENING: Weekend of March 8th-10th

WHAT’S HAPPENING (WWAY) — From a race for a good cause, to fine southern food, there is something for everyone happening this weekend.

In New Hanover County, the Strut for Childhood Cancer Race is taking place at Long Leaf Park. The race is meant to support families whose children are battling cancer. This is the 15th year of the annual event, which takes place on Saturday, March 9th at 9:00am. Registration for the event is still open.

The Wrighstville Beach Boat Show returns this weekend. It’s a Wrightsville Beach Marina near Bluewater Grille. Saturday hours are 10am to 6pm, Sunday from 11am to 4pm.

In Bladen County, the Dublin Peanut Festival Committee is having a fish fry fundraiser. Tickets for the event are $25 and it is all you can eat with items like whiting, fries and hush puppies. It’s taking place on Saturday, March 9th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at the LuMil Vineyard General Store.

In Brunswick County, the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium will be hosting its second annual Community Day. The event will celebrate Brunswick Counties conversation and STEM education, as well as an art exhibit for featuring wildlife and Brunswick County location paintings. The event will be on Saturday, March 9th from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Museum of Coastal Carolina.
