Where to get food and water in Boiling Spring Lakes
BOILING SPRING LAKES, NC (WWAY) — Residents of the heavily damaged Boiling Spring Lakes can now get some supplies free of charge.
Starting Wednesday morning at 11:35, folks could pick up meals ready to eat and water at south Brunswick Middle School.
Tarps are not available at this time.
For many in the area, this is a much needed service.
One woman said she tried to evacuate but didn’t make it out in time and had to ride out the storm in her trailer.
Now she says she’s unable to get supplies at the grocery store.
“When we went to a grocery store, they were out of bread, out of water, all the supplies really that you need, there’s nothing there. I mean, maybe some macaroni and cheese, some things. But having kids, it’s hard and staying at a camper and then the water goes out, the electricity goes out,” said Alyssa Weyandt.
Meals ready to eat and water will be available at South Brunswick Middle School Thursday from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
