White Shark ‘Anne Bonny’ pings offshore of Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A White Shark with a long history off the North Carolina coast pinged Wednesday night offshore of Wilmington.

‘Anne Bonny’ was first sampled, tagged and released by OCEARCH off the Outer Banks in April of 2023.

Since then, she has traveled more than 5,500 miles.

This juvenile female White Shark spends a lot of her time off the coast of North Carolina, likely taking advantage of the ample food supply in this region.
