Whiteville Baseball claims back-to-back NCHSAA titles

ZEBULON, NC (WWAY) — For the second year in a row and ninth time in school history, the Whiteville Wolfpack baseball team has won a state title.

Whiteville found themselve in unfamiliar territory coming into Saturday as they trailed in the series 1-0 following a 10-0 loss to Ledford High School.

In the first game, the Pack avoided elimination with an 8-3 decision to force a winner-take-all game 3 in the afternoon.

In the third and final game, weather and delays could not slow down Whiteville en route to yet another state championship in their illustrious program history.

Senior Brooks Baldwin is the MVP after winning his third title in his four year career in Whiteville.
