Whiteville hires Jarret Price as new head football coach

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — There is a new leader of the Pack in Whiteville as the school has hired Jarret Price as their new head coach.

Price, the son of former South Columbus and Wallace-Rose Hill football coach Joey Price, comes to the Pack from Wallace-Rose Hill where he has been the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the Bulldogs since 2009. The team won 5 state championships during his time in Duplin County.

He, like his dad, has ties to Columbus County as he graduated from South Columbus High School in 2004 and served as a volunteer assistant coach in 2007 and 2008.

Whiteville Athletic Director David Smith confirms the hiring and says Price will assume his role as teacher and coach on April 30. Smith says the hiring will be a “good fit” for the football program.

The position opened in March after Luke Little left to coach at Morganton Freedom High School.

Little led the Wolfpack to four conference titles in six years.
