Whiteville man convicted of trafficking in heroin and opioids

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) – A Whiteville man will spend more than a decade in prison on drug charges.
After a three-day trial, a Columbus County jury convicted Johnathan Terrille Jordan, 36, from Whiteville of 2 counts of trafficking heroin, 2 counts of trafficking opioids, and 1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Tiffany Powers to 225-282 months, followed by a 120-day sentence in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, and given a $500,000
fine.
In June of 2022, Jordan was stopped in the Williams Township community, after a detective with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office observed traffic violations. Jordan was asked to exit the vehicle and a Crown Royal bag fell from his pants. He told the detective that the contents included Cocaine, Marijuana, Heroin, and pills.
Items of evidence were sent to the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory for testing and the substances included Heroin, Fentanyl, and Oxycodone.
