Wilmington Choral Society hosts annual Christmas Concert

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Choral Society will be performing their annual Christmas concert ‘Tis the Season’ at the Wilson Center Thursday.

Vice President Kathy Blackwell says the group formed in 1950 and has since had opportunities to participate in a number of reputable events.

“We have sung in special events such as the grand opening of Thalian Hall in 1990,” Blackwell said.  “This coming December 20th we plan to sing at The Poplar Grove event that they have.”

‘Tis the Season for Singing’ will feature various holiday favorites such as “The First Noel”, “Theme from Elf”, “Star Carol”, Jingle Bells, O Christmas Tree, and Carol of the Bells among others.

Director Jennifer Mueske says they have a special surprise for concert goers.

“We will be doing traditional things. We will be doing songs about winter snow, traditional Christmas carols,” Mueske said.  “And there’s even a sing along”.

The show is tonight at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
