Wilmington man arrested found with cocaine after traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, after 2 a.m. on Monday WPD officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at South 12th and Castle Street.
The passenger, 39-year-old Eugene Grady Jr. of Wilmington, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended.
Officers found crack cocaine on Grady and a gun was recovered from inside the vehicle.
Grady is being held at New Hanover Sheriff’s Office Detention center without bond.
He is charged with possession of firearm by felon, felony possession of schedule II-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, resist/delay/obstruct public officers, assault on law enforcement officer.
