Wilmington man credited with saving woman’s life in fiery SC crash
COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WWAY) – A South Carolina fire department calling a Wilmington man a hero after he stopped on I-95 and rescued a woman from a burning motor home last week.
Our media partners at the Star News report that Timonthy Hunley is from Wilmington. He’s the man the Colleton County Fire Rescue says pulled a woman out of a burning motor home.
The vehicle had crashed into the tree-lined median along I-95 last Thursday according to fire rescue.
They report the man driving died in the blaze, Hunley and the 40-year-old woman suffered burns.
She was air-lifted to the Augusta Burn Center, however, Hunley did not want to be treated according to rescue reports.
Fire Rescue credits Hunley with saving the woman’s life. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
