Wilmington man, mother sentenced for trafficking heroin
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A mother and son will spend years in prison after pleading guilty to drug trafficking charges in New Hanover County.
Atiff Lloyd, 27, pleaded guilty yesterday to trafficking in opium or heroin. A judge sentenced him to 7.5-10 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
His mother Earlene Lloyd, 54, pleaded guilty to attempted trafficking of opium ior heroin last month. She will spend 8 years to 10 years and 8 months in prison.
In August 2017 the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office used a confidential informant to buy heroin from the Lloyds’ home. When detectives searched the home, they found heroin, pistols, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
