Wilmington Police Department hosting women’s self-defense class in March

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department is accepting applications for its women’s self-defense class.

The four-session course will start March 11 and continue on March 12, March 18, and March 19.

The course is designed to teach women how to stay aware of their surroundings and recognize potential threats.

Participants must be at least 18-years-old. Only 14 people will be accepted.

The course will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Hayes Lacewell Police and Fire Training Facility in Wilmington.
