Wilmington Police K9 set to retire

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — After faithfully serving the Wilmington Police Department for the past three years, K9 Stanley is set to retire in the coming weeks.
Right now, he is currently on light duty due to a medical condition known as fibrotic myopathy, a medical condition that he was recently diagnosed with.
A Police Department news release adds, “Over the past few years Stanley has been a valuable member of the WPD family and assisted with the apprehension of numerous dangerous criminals. He is Certified in Police Dog 1 (PD1) and Tracking.
