Wilmington Sharks season 2 weeks away

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Sharks fans, are you ready? The 2018 season for the Wilmington Sharks begins May 31.

The Sharks official hype-man and Community Relations Director Tom Lamont stopped by Good Evening Wilmington today to talk about the upcoming season and new promotions.

You can enjoy a “Thirsty Thursday” or a Star Wars night while watching the stars of tomorrow in the Coastal Plain League including some faces many here in the area will recognize.

“College coaches are looking to pace their players all year long for the summer, and we’ve got 3 UNCW players coming on board with us,” Lamont said. “Jackson meadows, 2nd baseman, Zack Bridges, the backup catcher for the Seahawks, and Noah Liles the starting center fielder. So we’re excited to have that local flavor.”

The season opens with a game against the Morehead City Marlins May 31 at 7 p.m.
