Woman arrested after Southport hit-and-run Saturday
Cindy Early, 65, is charged with felony hit and run, DWI, and other offenses
SOUTHPORT, N.C. (WWAY) – On Saturday, at approximately 1:15 in the afternoon Southport Police, Fire, & EMS responded to a Hit & Run accident involving multiple vehicles, with injuries, at the intersection of Moore and N Howe Street.
SPD arrested Cindy Ahlgren Early for DWI, felony hit and run, and other offenses.
Arriving units found a person pinned between 2 vehicles that were struck, and the suspect vehicle had fled the scene. One person was transported with serious injuries after extricated by Fire & EMS personnel. The extent of those injuries are unknown and their identity is not being released at this time.
Early’s vehicle was later found within blocks of the accident, and she has been arrested.
