WPD: Armed man arrested, marijuana seized during traffic stop

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington man is out on bail after he was arrested early Monday with a gun and drugs.

Police stopped Jeremy Bernard Holmes, 24, in the 300 block of South College Road shortly after 2:00 a.m.

When police say they approached the car Holmes was driving, they smelled an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.

They also discovered Holmes had a pistol in his waistband.

Inside the car police found Adderall, packaged marijuana as well as a large amount of cash.

Holmes was released on a $20,000 unsecured bond. Holmes is charged with carrying a concealed weapon & possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
