WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The number of mounted officers in Wilmington has increased.

The department now has four mounted officers guiding four horses through the streets.

Chief Donny Williams has had the expansion goal for the last two years, according to the department.

They say to make sure to say “hi” when you see them out and about.
