WPD investigates armed robbery at Burger King


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) —  Wilmington police are investigating an armed robbery at the Burger King in the 1900 block of S 16th Street.

Corporal Leslie Irving said officers responded to a call around 9:30 Saturday night. Irving said a Burger King employee was taking out the trash when a black male held him at gunpoint. Irving said the suspect walked the employee inside, took an undisclosed amount of money and ran.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5’11” wearing a dark colored shirt around his head, a short sleeve shirt and khaki shorts. Irving said K-9 searched Saturday night, but lost the suspect’s scent at 16th Street and Robin Hood Rd.
