WPD investigating after house party ends with woman shot

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –Wilmington Police are investigating after a woman was shot at a house party early Saturday morning.

Police responded to New Hanover Regional Medical Center around 3:20 a.m. where a woman was being treated for a superficial gunshot wound to her hand.

Police say the victim, Tyashia Lewis-Freeman, 22, of Wilmington, is not being forthcoming with information.

The incident occurred in a home in the 1000 block of Princess Street, where there had been a house party earlier that night.
