WPD: Man in custody after threatening officers, police fired shot into home

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A suspect is in custody after being barricaded inside a home for hours in Wilmington overnight Sunday into Monday morning.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, on Sunday, April 7, shortly after 11 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 100 block of 43rd street in reference to a verbal domestic disturbance.
Police say when officers arrived, the man began communicating threats to the officers. In response, an officer fired a round into the residence, however police do not believe anyone was injured.
The Cape Fear Regional Teams Bomb Squad, Swat, and Crisis Negotiators responded to the scene. The suspect was taken into custody around 5 Monday morning.
