WWAY Student Athlete of the Week: Andy McIntosh

New Hanover goalkeeper has vision stronger than most

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) – The WWAY Student Athlete of the Week is Andy McIntosh from New Hanover High School.

The junior is a three-sport athlete and rocks a 4. 5 GPA. He is also a member of many extracurricular clubs, including being the president and founder of the “Wilmington Leo club” to help the visually impaired, collecting over 100 recycled pairs of glasses to donate in November.

McIntosh says it was his first passion outside of sports – since he is color blind and has learned to love helping other people.
