Zócalo Street Food and Tequila to host block party for Cinco De Mayo

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — With Cinco De Mayo this weekend, one restaurant in Wilmington plans to go all out to celebrate.

Zócalo Street Food and Tequila at The Point will be hosting a Cinco De Mayo block party on Sunday. A whole street will be shut down next to the restaurant with plenty of activities for everyone.

Owner and manager Junior Zarate looks forward to this event every year and welcomes anyone who wants to come and join in on the fun.

“It’s our biggest day of the year, you know for all the Hispanic businesses here, especially the Mexican community. And for us, it’s like the top day of the year. You know, a little bit of entertainment on the patio and the same time you know, a lot of surprises with food, drinks, painting faces, karaoke, DJ. So, we’re just going to have a good atmosphere,” Zarate said.

The block party will be held this Sunday from 11-4pm and all ages are welcome.
