Suspect arrested for August murder

videoWilmington Police have arrested a man and charged him with a murder in August.

The District Attorney’s Office says Cordero Alexander Pridgen is being held without bond for the murder of Edmund Lane. He made his first court appearance this morning.

Semi rolls over at busy Wilmington intersection

videoA rolled over tractor trailer has affected traffic at a busy Wilmington intersection.

Late this morning the semi rolled over at the north end of Carolina Beach Road at the intersection at Burnett Blvd. and S. 3rd Street taking out the traffic light.

Team of the Week – Trask

videoTrask defeated East Columbus last week in high school football. It was the second win in a row for Trask. The Titans previously hadn’t won two games in a row since 2010. We’re recognizing Trask with the WWAY Farm Bureau Insurance at Mayfaire Team of the Week award.

Neighbors react to cop accused of chase

videoA former Leland Police officer accused of leading a high-speed chase from Brunswick County into South Carolina was wanted on warrants that accuse him of threats against a woman and her children involving a rifle. Police were attempting to serve those warrants when they say Smith fled.
