Azalea Festival Home Tour features 170 years of history
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Several historic homes and Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary opened their doors to the public Saturday for the start of the Azalea Festival Home Tour.
The tour showcased the wide variety of architectural styles found in Wilmington including nine historic homes and one historic church.
Organizers says the homes span 170 years of Wilmington’s history and architecture.
Proceeds support the Historic Wilmington foundation, a private nonprofit organization that has helped preserve more than 100 historic properties since 1966.
