Budweiser plans to send beer to Mars
WASHINGTON — Budweiser intends to send barley to be tested at the International Space Station in early December, their first step toward the goal of becoming the first beer on Mars.
Budweiser will work in partnership with Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), the group responsible for managing the ISS U.S. National Laboratory as well as Space Tango. Space Tango work to build systems that help scientists conduct microgravity research while in space.

Budweiser’s barley will catch a ride to the ISS during SpaceX’s CRS-13 cargo supply mission Dec. 4. The grain will remain in orbit for one month and then return to earth for testing and analysis.
“One of the experiments will focus on barley seed exposure with the second testing barley germination,” the company said.
The seeds will be encased in Space Tango boxes during their journey.
