Dangerous heat over eastern North Carolina
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) – Dangerous heat is again a threat over much of North Carolina.
The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for parts of central and eastern North Carolina for Monday afternoon and evening.

Forecasters say the advisory is in effect in 41 of the state’s 100 counties.
Heat index readings are expected to be up to 109 degrees, especially along the coast.
The advisory includes Elizabeth City, Fayetteville, Goldsboro, Greenville, Jacksonville, Kinston, Kitty Hawk, Lumberton, New Bern, Roanoke Rapids, Rocky Mount, Wilmington and Wilson.
