Eight Cape Fear beaches make USA TODAY list of top ten beaches in NC

(WWAY) — USA TODAY has released its list of the ten best beaches from North Carolina.

Eight of the ten are from our area.

An expert panel nominated their top picks for beaches across the state and readers voted for their favorites.

Topping the list is Ocean Isle Beach. Rounding up the top five are Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Wrightsville Beach and Oak Island. Holden Beach came in at number six.

Topsail Beach and Surf City came in at number nine and ten, respectively.
