FIRST ON 3 UPDATE: Still no source found in VA clinic water issues

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Water issues remain at the Wilmington VA clinic.

CFPUA issued a “Do Not Use Water” advisory at the clinic on March 23 after officials at the clinic noticed a discoloration in the water the week before. VA Public Affairs Officer Jeffrey Melvin says at this point, they still don’t know the source of the contamination.

Melvin added the VA is referring urgent procedures to community providers at the VA’s expense and rescheduling other appointments. For any appointments in the clinic, he says they’ll use precautionary measures including water jugs and hand sanitizer.

The warning advises not to use the water for human consumption including cooking, making ice, drink mixing, food preparation and hand washing.
