Four found dead near NC homeless camp in apparent murder-suicide

AUTRYVILLE, NC (WTVD) — The Sampson County Sheriff’s released new information Monday on a triple murder-suicide that happened Sunday morning.

The incident happened in a wooded area near the end of Tanner Lane in Autryville.

Deputies said they found four people dead in and around two tents in the woods after responding to a shots-fired call at 9:22 a.m. Investigators said the area is a known encampment for homeless individuals.

The victims have been identified as Daniel Jay Wiltshire, 44, Amber Rae King, 43, and Carrie Nichoel Trampel, 41. The suspect in the case is identified as 40-year-old Dwane Paul Miller, of Marysville, WA, who died by suicide, the sheriff’s office says.
