Complete list of the Carolina Panthers 2024 NFL Draft Class

NORTH CAROLINA (WWAY) — Without having a first-round pick despite having the worst record in the NFL last season, many wondered how the Carolina Panthers would look to improve in this years draft. Let’s take a look at what general manager Dan Morgan was able to do during his first draft in charge.
At the end of the first-round, the Panthers traded with the Buffalo Bills to get the 32nd pick, which was the last pick of the first-round. Before the trade, the Panthers held the first pick in the second-round, which was pick 33. They would go on to select South Carolina Wide Receiver Xavier Legette with a need at receiver, while also securing a 5th-year option due to the pick being in the first-round.
With the 46th pick in the second-round, the Panthers looked to bolster their run game by selecting Texas running back Jonathon Brooks. In the third-round, the Panthers also filled a need with 72nd overall pick Trevin Wallace, an inside linebacker from the University of Kentucky.
On the final day, the Panthers would continue to add to their offense. With the 101st pick in the fourth-round, the Panthers selected Ja’Tavion Sanders, a tight end from Texas. Sanders would be the second Longhorn the Panthers would add through the draft. In the 5th round, the Panthers selected Washington-State defensive back Chau-Smith Wade with the 157th pick. In round 6, Carolina would select defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy from Mississippi State with pick 200.
In the 7th and final round, the Panthers would select national champion linebacker Michael Barrett from Michigan at pick 240 to solidify their draft class. During the draft, the Panthers also made a trade with the Los Angeles Rams that gave Carolina their second-round pick for the 2025 draft. The Panthers gave up their 2025 second-round pick in a trade last season to the Chicago Bears in order to trade up to select Bryce Young.
