WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Before addressing hundreds of reporters at 2 p.m. today, Six-time Super Bowl winning head coach Bill Belichick met his Tar Heels for the first time.
Jason Smith is a Hoggard football alum now a player for UNC. He says the coaches made sure the players showed up early for their meeting with coach Belichick and that he couldn’t be more excited for the future.
“Right off the bat as soon as he walked in the door everyone got the right posture, looked at him with the ultimate respect.” Jason Smith says. “I believe a lot of people will want to come here and it will be a great opportunity to go to the NFL and it will be run very well. He really just put a lot of confidence into the program and I think we are going to be a really good program moving forward.”
The players are taking a break throughout the rest of the week and are reporting back on campus Sunday to begin preparing for their bowl game against UConn.
