Man runs down with car suspect who robbed him at gunpoint

RALEIGH, NC (AP) — Authorities say a man who was robbed standing outside a store saw the suspects a few minutes later as he drove away and hit one of them with his car.

Raleigh Police said in a news release that the man was waiting outside with several other people for the store to open around 6:30 a.m. Saturday when two suspects robbed them at gunpoint.

Investigators say the suspects managed to get away, but the one struck by the car was arrested by officers a short time later.

Police say 19-year-old Jashon Estes was charged with robbery after being released from the hospital. It wasn’t known if he had a lawyer.

The second suspect has not been found. Police are investigating the driver, but no charges have been filed.
