Meteorologist Jim Cantore serving up drinks in Carolina Beach for a good cause

CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Meteorologist Jim Cantore making a stop in Carolina Beach to help with something other than the weather.

At SeaWitch Cafe and Tiki bar, Cantore was helping make cocktails for Paws Place Dog Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue service in Brunswick County. All proceeds from select cocktails on the menu went directly to Paws Place, as well as those who wanted to bring in supplies to donate. Many people showed up at the event to get a drink made from Cantore himself and to help a non-profit organization.

Alex Gilewicz, co-owner of SeaWitch, said that everyone wanted to have fun and help out at the same time.

“To see Jim and then everyone has been bringing in supplies for the shelter as well. So, everyone wants to come out and have a great time and luckily we got some wonderful weather this evening and we got a great band starting up pretty soon so it’s been a good night,” Gilewicz said.

Gilewicz says the turnout was high and he’s happy so many people came to show their support. Many patrons at the bar said they could simply not pass up the chance to get a drink made by Jim Cantore himself.
