NC DMV says 1 registration renewal sticker will save money
RALEIGH, NC (AP) — The days of having two stickers on your North Carolina license plate are going away.
The Division of Motor Vehicles announced that starting Tuesday the annual registration renewal label a vehicle owner adheres to the vehicle’s plate will include both the month and the year marking the expiration date for the registration.
Currently plates have a red-numbered sticker marking the expiration month in the upper left hand corner and a sticker with the year and plate number in the upper right-hand corner.
Now people getting renewals will receive a single grey sticker with the month, year and plate number in the upper right-hand corner. DMV says motorists should remove the red month sticker when the grey sticker is received.
DMV says the change will save the agency money.
