New sanctuary for All Saints Catholic Church dedicated in Hampstead
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — Some members of a Hampstead faith community gathered for a dedication mass for their new church building on Wednesday.
A new building for All Saints Catholic Church was completed last month, and Wednesday’s mass was the first one held in the new sanctuary.
The members kicked off a $3.5 million capital campaign in 2021.
They met that goal in June 2023, and construction started shortly thereafter.
They needed the new building since their membership had outgrown the original building, which was built back in the 1950s.
A multi-purpose building was built back in the 90s and had been used for Mass.
Bishop Luis Zarama of Raleigh led the mass, with nearly 30 priests from other area churches participating.
