Pender County nonprofit getting closer to moving into new location
HAMPSTEAD, NC (WWAY) — A Pender County non-profit is in the process of moving to a new location to better serve those in need.
Share The Table is an organization that provides free community meals and a food pantry. They give away more than 1,000 meals to people in Pender and Onslow County per week. The faith-based organization is in the process of moving to a larger location in Hampstead off Highway 17 on Perkins Drive. The new location will allow them to offer more services, such as education and cooking classes. Dawn Ellis, the nonprofit’s Executive Director said she’s excited they’re going to be able to help more people.
“Just a much bigger space with a lot more cold storage for fresh produce that we like to give the neighbors we serve, and frozen proteins that we also pass out. So, we’ll have that, dairy items, so a lot more storage for that, bigger space to shop.”
Share The Table is expected to move into their new location sometime in August.
