Poor weekend weather didn’t stop some tourists from traveling to the beaches

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Tropical weather didn’t keep some people from having a good time near the coast Saturday.

At the Oceanic Pier in Wrightsville Beach, a lot of people spent the majority of the day exploring and checking out beach conditions as Tropical Storm Ana makes an impact on the region.

Tim Temille and his family are just visiting for weekend and although it’s expected to not be the best weekend of weather, he says he’s glad to be in town.

“My mom isn’t too happy, but we aren’t leaving,” said Temille. “We have already checked in and I think we are just going to ride this storm out.”.

Strong wind and heavy rain is expected Saturday night into Sunday as Ana makes landfall near the NC/SC border.

Temille says he’s glad to be able to spend Mother’s Day with his mom even though it will be raining.
