Preview of the 2025 Azalea Festival Home Tour

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — This year the Historic Wilmington Foundation will be featuring “The Suburb Beautiful” during its Azalea Festival Home Tour.

Since the 1980s, historic homes have been selected.

Seven homes and one church in the Oleander neighborhood will be on the tour this year.

A Retrospective Kick-Off event is planned for Thursday for ticket holders from 6 pm to 7:30pm at the Azalea Station located at 1502 Castle Street. This will be an opportunity to speak with some of the homeowners as well as hear about the neighborhood’s rich history.

The Azalea Festival Home Tour will start with a ribbon-cutting at noon on Saturday at Saint John’s Episcopal Church.

Executive director of the Historic Wilmington Foundation William Stolz says the homes this year represent a lot of history.

“The homes and church that we have this year are really amazing. There will be really significant homes and a church that really tell the history from the 1920s to the 1950s. Great representation of mid-modern, mid-century homes,” Stolz said.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $40.00 using this website.
