Public hearing on Hampstead water rate increase happening Wednesday
PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina Utilities Commission is holding a public hearing regarding the Carolina Water Service of North Carolina which services one Hampstead community.
Last month, we told you Belvedere plantation is having ongoing issues with their water with some cases brown or unusable water.
Now, Carolina Water Service has submitted a request to raise water and sewer prices. It is something County Commissioners and residents do not agree with during a time like this.
The Utilities Commission has scheduled six hearings to hear testimony from customers across the state. Tomorrow, there will be one in Wilmington at 7 pm at the New Hanover County Courthouse at 316 princess street.
