Riverfest to continue despite heavy rain threat
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Even with heavy rains in store this weekend, the director of Riverfest said the show will go on.
The festival, which kicks off Friday, will have vendors along Water Street all weekend. Director Chris Snowden said they do not have plans to move any vendors from the area, which is near parts of the street prone to flooding. A City of Wilmington spokesman said they have no plans to make adjustments at this time, from the city’s perspective. Earlier this week, the part of Water Street near Market Street was closed due to high waters.
Free on-street parking downtown starts Friday at 5 p.m. and lasts all day Saturday. Parking is free on Sundays.
