Seahawks hoops set for Saturday clash with Clemson
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– It may not be the official start of the regular season for UNCW Men’s Basketball, but Seahawk fans are excited about Saturday’s exhibition. The team will take on the Clemson Tigers at Trask Coliseum this weekend to help benefit Hurricane Florence relief victims.
Even though the final score doesn’t matter for either teams record, UNCW expects to be tested. The AP Top 25 poll was released on Sunday with the Tigers coming into the rankings at No. 22.
UNCW had to cancel their annual Midnite Madness this season, so this will be the first time fans will get to see the Seahawks. Those around the program are excited for the opportunity they will have.
“We want everyone to come out. This gives the students a chance to get out and see us play in a competitive enviroment. Saturday, 5 O’Clock make sure you get your tickets now,” said head coach C.B. McGrath.
The proceeds from the game on Saturday will go towards Hurricane Florence victims and the University as well. Tip-off is set for 5:00 P.M. from Trask Coliseum against the Clemson Tigers.
