Three arrested for murder 3 years after Bladen County man went missing

According to Captain Randy Dover with the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, a joint investigation involving the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI)  led to the arrests of three people from Scotland County for the 2021 murder of Brandon Carl Wayne McDonald.

In March of 2021, Brandon McDonald was believed to have been in the Laurinburg and Hope Mills area prior to going missing. His cell phone’s last known location was in that area, and his truck was found wrecked and abandoned in Fayetteville.

McDonald’s family spent the last three years searching for answers.

The Brandon Carl Wayne McDonald Joint Task Force aggressively began to push through the case and on Friday were able to obtain warrants for three people in Scotland County. Michael Anthony “Blu” Bethea Jr., Shelena Lynn Clark, and LaKeithan “Joe” JuJuan Tyson are all charged with First Degree Murder, Felony Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Concealment of Death.
