Training exercises underway in Oak Island

OAK ISLAND, NC (WWAY) — Don’t be alarmed if you see low-flying aircrafts, including a helicopter and drones, around the Point at Oak Island. It is part of a planned multi-agency training exercise.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says that there is no emergency, and the activity is strictly for training purposes.

They say that the exercises are important for keeping their teams sharp and ready to respond when needed.
