UNCW Baseball sweeps home series against Towson; scores season-high in runs on Sunday

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW Baseball swept the Towson Tigers in a three game home stand at Brooks Field this weekend.

The Seahawks won the series by scores of 8-1, 14-2 and 15-3. On Sunday, the Seahawks scored a season-high in run with 15 and tied a season-high with 17 hits. The Seahawks now are (23-13) on the season and (10-2) in the CAA. They now sit in first place atop the CAA and will take on nationally ranked Wake Forest on the road at 6PM.

Tanner Thach now has 19 home runs on the season after hitting one during each game this weekend. Pitcher Zane Taylor threw a seven shutout inning and Alec Demartino added three hits on Sunday as well. Six different Seahawks finished with muli-hits during the game.
