UNCW Women’s Basketball falls to Charleston 97-58

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW Women’s Basketball taking on College of Charleston, looking to knock off the cougars in front of their home fans.

The Seahawks got down early in this game after a 21 -6 start from Charleston. Redshirt freshman Taylor Henderson had a nice game offensively with 24 points, that being the 12th time she has lead the team in scoring this year. Freshman Kylah Silver also scored 12 points and adding 8 rebounds to her stat sheet. Despite the loss, head coach Nicole Woods said her team never gave up and credits them for fighting till the end.

“Well that’s something that anybody that watches our team from the beginning to now, we always play hard. We always play hard, we never give up. That’s not something that I worry about with us. We have our moments where I feel like we could give a little bit more,” Woods said.

The Seahawks fall to (5-18) on the season and will travel to Delaware on February 23rd for their next match-up.
