Weather holds for UNCW commencement ceremonies

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Many students were glad to make it through their graduation ceremony without any rain Friday and Saturday.

Ceremonies were held inside Trask Coliseum, where more than 1,960 undergraduates, as well as 418 graduate students and five doctoral students walked across the stage Friday and Saturday.

Christine Schulze graduated with a degree in Communications Studies and certificate in professional writing. She says she wants to find a job in marketing with a focus on writing.

“I am so excited. I’m really pumped to stay in Wilmington. I’m interviewing for jobs right now and hopefully that will turn into something. Luckily the weather turned out okay for the ceremony.”

Schulze says it’s a bittersweet feeling, but is glad to move on and hopes to find a job soon.
