Wildlife officers remove alligator found at city hall

JACKSONVILLE, NC (WWAY) —  A woman walking by Jacksonville City Hall got quite the surprise Tuesday morning.

City leaders posted pictures and a video on their Facebook page of a young alligator that was sitting right next to the building on New Bridge Street.

In the post, it said the gator startled a woman walking past it, but she is safe and NC Wildlife officers helped return the juvenile to the wild.
