Wilmington City Council candidates speak at public forum ahead of election
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The 2023 Municipal Elections are two weeks away and candidates running for Wilmington City Council got a chance to speak about the issues important to them.
7 candidates, including incumbents Kevin Spears and Neil Anderson, answered questions from the public at Cape Fear Community College’s Union Station. Newcomers Salette Andrews, Kathryn Bruner, Marlowe Foster, David Joyner and John Lennon were given the chance to make their case to the public as to why they should be elected to council.
Candidates spoke on a range of issues including public transportation, affordable housing and the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge. The election is Tuesday, November 7th.
