Women arrested after 5+ lbs of pot found in home

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office say two women are facing drug charges after several pounds of pot and cash were found in their home.

Deputies say Courtney Beckford (left), 32, and Theresa Beckford (right), 32, are both facing charges including manufacturing and possession of marijuana. Their bonds range from $50,000 to $30,000.

Investigators say the pair was arrested Wednesday after deputies searched their Calabash home and found 5.5 lbs of weed and more than $15,000 cash. They say the street value of the drugs is about $13,000.
