A scary situation after a shooting in a New Hanover County neighborhood. The shooting stemmed from a dispute between a man and his stepson and it landed the stepson in the hospital.

The sheriff's office says several people were at 1890 Hillcrest Road near Supply just after midnight when there was a loud noise outside. Investigators say when Michael Jarrell Stanley, 22, went toward the door, multiple shots were fired.

Wednesday evening Columbus County Sheriff's deputies charged Dale Duncan with the murder of his brother Randall Duncan. Investigators say Dale shot his brother twice with a shotgun Monday night at Dale's home near Tabor City.
