Cameron Art Museum announces winter programs

The Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington is kicking off the new year with a huge list of programming for children and adults.  The events include Martin Luther King holiday programming for kids, homeschooling help, painting classes, readings, yoga, and the return of Jazz@cam.

Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear looks to a world in which every family has a home, a livelihood, and the chance to build a better future.  It is celebrating 25 years of providing case management, transitional housing, and emergency shelter to families in need.  The 25th Anniversary Celebration Low Country Boil has a happy hour, dinner, and entertainment from comedian Orlando Jones.  

Jump Clean needs a boost

Jump Clean was recently hired by the Wilmington Housing Authority to clean up the Creekwood Area, but it's going to take at least 30 days for the WHA to pay them.

Woman in New Jersey alerts Wilmington Cops to robbery

A woman called the 911 center from New Jersey to report that she had been talking to her son on the telephone. He was parked near his business in the 1200 block S. 13th Street. Suddenly it sounded as though he was being robbed and the phone disconnected. Officers responded but found no victim in the area.

McIntyre says area supports his "no" vote

video It's been nearly a week since President Obama signed the health care reform bill into law. The vote in Congress came along party lines, but our representative, Democrat Mike McIntyre, went against his party to vote no.
